Frequently Asked Questions
What does a doula do exactly?
A doula is a professional trained in childbirth who provides emotional, physical, and educational support to a mother who is expecting, is experiencing labor, or has recently given birth. The doula’s purpose is to help women have a safe, memorable, and empowering birthing experience.
Do you have experience with birth complications?
I do! I am experienced in supporting Cesarean birth scenarios as well as personally experienced with VBAC births. No mater what experience you want, you can count on me to be the calm support you need.
Do you have experience with breastfeeding instruction?
I am a certified Lactation Counselor and can help with initial breastfeeding and any struggles you might have. Breastfeeding is natural but it is not always easy!
How will you support my partner during the birth process?
A good doula doesn’t replace the birth partner, but enriches the experience for both people. A doula is helpful for informing the partner what is normal, what is expected, as well as being an extra set of hands with comfort measures.
